Police have forced a biker off the road after a chase in Northallerton.
The rider failed to stop for officers just before 10pm on Sunday night.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The rider had failed to stop for North Yorkshire Police officers just before 10pm. He went into a pedestrian area and alleyways, before going through a red light.
“In order to minimise risk, our specially-trained officers made tactical contact with a police vehicle to bring the pursuit to a rapid conclusion.
“The rider came off the bike on a roundabout island where he was detained. He is due to be interviewed about the incident.
“Irresponsible use of high-powered vehicles puts everyone at risk – we won’t hesitate to take action.”
