Several attractions in and around York are closed due to bad weather today.
It comes as a yellow weather warning has come into force for York and North Yorkshire, lasting till 8pm tonight (Thursday, 12 March).
The Met Office says: “A period of strong winds, accompanied by heavy rain, is expected on Thursday with some transport disruption possible.”
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “If you’re travelling on our roads or spending time outdoors tomorrow, please take extra care.
“Strong winds and heavy rain may create hazardous conditions, including difficult driving and fallen debris.”
A number of places are closed or partially closed by the weather today.
Castle Howard said: “Due to high winds some areas of the Castle Howard Estate will be closed on Thursday 12th March.
“Skelf Island Adventure Park and woodland areas will not be open to the public. The Castle Howard Arboretum grounds will also be closed but the cafe and visitor centre will remain open.”
Both the Yorkshire Museum and York Museum Gardens are closed all day today.
Beningbrough Hall and Gardens said: “Beningbrough will be closed tomorrow due to the forecast high wind speeds.
“Current expectations are we will be open as normal on Friday but check back for updates ahead of travelling.”
Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal said: “It’s going to be too blowy to open on Thursday 12 March. With so many large and ancient trees on site we have to take extra care.”
