This was the scene in the centre of York early this morning.
Police taped off a section of road next to Ouse Bridge.
The cordon was at the junction of Bridge Street, Skeldergate, Micklegate and North Street.

Armed officers were among those at the scene.
Police tape prevented vehicles from travelling between Micklegate and Ouse Bridge, but pedestrians could still get through.
The cordon has now been lifted.
