The A64 is closed this afternoon.
It follows reports of a powerline coming down near the road at West Heslerton, east of Malton.
The AA reports: “Road closed and queueing traffic due to emergency repairs on A64 both ways from Station Road to West Lane.”

It has led to a number of unplanned power cuts in the area. Northern Powergrid says it hopes to have electricity restored by 5.30pm.
