A York hotel has been named to be one of the best in the UK by Tripadvisor.
No 1 By GuestHouse on Clifton has been revealed to be in the top 1% of traveller’s favourite hotels in the UK on Tripadvisor.
That has seen it named among the Best of the Best Hotels in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards – at number 22 in the list of 25 of best hotels in the UK.
The Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards are based on website reviewers’ favourite destinations, hotels, restaurants, and things to do around the world, based on reviews and ratings collected over the past 12 months.
Tripadvisor says: “The Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best title celebrates the highest level of excellence in travel.
“It’s awarded to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period. Out of our 8 million listings, fewer than 1% achieve this milestone.”
No 1 By GuestHouse on Clifton, housed within a Grade II Listed Regency townhouse, is home to 38 rooms and suites, a Rhubarb Bar, Marmalade Lounge, an atmospheric and tranquil spa, help-yourself Pantry and Pearly Cow York restaurant.
And it is not the only North Yorkshire representative on the best hotels lists – The Toulson Court in Scarborough and the Hillcrest in Whitby have been named among the Best B&Bs and Inns in the World, at place number four and seven respectively.
The Belfry in Whitby has also been named as the seventh best B&B in the UK.
Wrea Head Hall in Scarborough made the Tripadvisor’s 25th Anniversary UK list in 12th place, in celebration of Tripadvisor’s 25th anniversary, which has rounded up travellers’ all-time favourite spots since the beginning.
