Youths were blamed for setting fire to a children’s play area last night (Tuesday).
Firefighters from Huntington were called to the play area on York Road, Haxby at 7.31pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews located a small amount of plastic on a children’s roundabout which had been set alight by youths.
“Crews extinguished the fire and removed the plastic from the roundabout.”
