Police were called to reports of criminal behaviour at a North Yorkshire town supermarket yesterday evening (Thursday).
The trouble was at the Proudfoot Supermarket on High Street in Eastfield near Scarborough.
It involved “criminal and ASB related behaviour from a group of youths that live in the local area,” said police.

A force spokesperson said: “Reassurance patrols were conducted in the area and officers engaged with youths to give appropriate advice.
“Unfortunately, some of the individuals spoken to were unable to follow the advice given, and so following a further incident, section 34 dispersal powers were implemented, and five youths were issued with dispersal notices, banning them from the area for 48 hours.
“Further reassurance patrols will be conducted over the next couple of days to ensure compliance and if necessary, issue further dispersals.”
The dispersal order remains in place until Saturday evening.
“We urge parents to be extra vigilant of their children’s whereabouts, who they are with and their activities to assist police in tackling this ongoing issue in the area,” the spokesperson said.
