York festive elf run is back – with family fun and great prizes

It’s not long now until a 100 elves will be seen running around York Designer Outlet.

St Leonard’s Hospice is partnering with York Designer Outlet and YorkMix for its festive Elf Run, taking place on Sunday 23 November.

Throughout the fun-filled morning, there’ll be lots of entertainment before and during the run, including an exciting snow party and a fun warm-up session led by Thomas Clubbercise.

Participants can choose the number of laps they run around the Outlet (each lap is 1km), and they’ll receive a free hot drink and pastry to enjoy afterwards.

Other perks include a free elf hat to wear along the route, plus discounted ice-skating tickets for Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland.

Clare Meadley, community and events fundraiser at St Leonard’s Hospice, said: “The Elf Run is a brilliant way to get in the Christmas spirit with your family, friends or work colleagues.

“As a charity, events like the Elf Run are crucial in helping us raise much-needed funds, so we can continue to provide our compassionate care and support to local people when they need us most.”

Paul Tyler, York Designer Outlet centre manager, said: “We’re thrilled to be hosting the Elf Run at York Designer Outlet. It’s set to be a fantastic, feel-good event that brings the community together and will help fill the Centre with festive cheer at this important time of year.

“Supporting St Leonard’s Hospice is something we’re incredibly proud of, and we can’t wait to welcome all the elves as they run, laugh and spread Christmas spirit here at the Designer Outlet.”
