The emergency services have been dealing with an incident on Scarborough Bridge in York this evening.
TransPennine Express said fewer trains were able to operate between York and Malton and Scarborough as a result.
There was concern for the welfare of a person on Scarborough Bridge outside York Station. The person is now safely away from the railway.
Journeys were delayed and disruption lasted until the end of the Wednesday.
Some services were being run using buses.
It affected TransPennine Express trains to Scarborough and Malton as well as some to Leeds and Manchester.
Rail services are now back to normal.
