York musician returns with sell-out show – with stories and singalongs

York musician is bringing back his sell-out show to the stage next week.

Karl Mullen is returning to The Old Paint Shop at York Theatre Royal on Friday 26 June after two sell-out shows last year.

The upright-piano busker and winner of the Leeds Piano Competition Pub Piano Championship will be bringing a unique mix of live music, comedy and storytelling — moving from Chopin to Oasis, via Led Zeppelin and Les Dawson.

The show will feature ‘hilarious and heartfelt’ stories from decades of gigging and piano busking, and transforms The Old Paint Shop Studio into a cabaret-style club for the evening.

“The York shows last year were an amazing atmosphere, and I can’t wait to bring the piano back and share more stories,” said Karl.

“It’s always brilliant seeing the audience get involved.”

With unreserved seating in a relaxed cabaret-style setting, this is a close-up, informal night of live music full of character, laughter, and singalong moments.

Support will be from Nichola O’Connell.

Taking place at the Studio at York Theatre Royal, tickets are £15 and available here.
