York crew responds to report of youths setting fire in woodland

Firefighters were called to an incident in woodland last night.

It happened at about 6.01pm off Earswick Chase, York.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Acomb responded to a report of youths setting a fire in woodland.

“Crews located a camp fire that was unattended and extinguished it using buckets of water and a knapsack sprayer.”
