York chocolate café reveals opening date – with free treats for first 1,000 people

A new chocolate-themed café has announced its opening date – with a free treat for the first 1,000 people.

We reported last month that a branch of Chocolate Bar By Bullion was set to open at 15 Newgate, replacing the now-closed unique gift shop The Echo Of York.

Now, the chocolate cafe has revealed it will be opening its doors on Saturday 6 June.

A chocolate lover’s dream

And to celebrate their opening weekend, Chocolate Bar are giving the first 1,000 people a free jumbo toasted marshmallow with their chocolate drink of choice.

To claim your free jumbo treat, sign up here to receive your voucher by email and redeem on opening weekend – and it’s first come, first served, so once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Bullion is a craft chocolate maker founded in 2010. Fourteen years later founder Max Scotford fulfilled a dream by opening his first Chocolate Bar Café.

With locations in Sheffield, London and coming soon to Nottingham, the cafe will bring its next branch to York.

Chocolate Bar specialises in ‘craft drinking chocolate that celebrates cacao, not sugar’ with a mission to ‘bring high-quality, bean-to-bar craft drinking chocolate to people across the UK.’

Their craft drinking chocolate is served hot or iced, with customers able to choose their chocolate %, milk, and add flavourings like orange, mint, or matcha, and toppings like marshmallow or whipped cream.

The cafe also serves coffee, tea and soft drinks, as well as sweet treats like cookies, brownies, pastries, and soft serve ice cream.
