A man has been arrested after a woman was followed down a York road.
The woman, fearing for her safety, flagged down a car to help – and police want to trace the people who came to her aid.
It happened on New Lane, Huntington at about 9.20pm on Thursday (15 January).

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for information about anyone who may have witnessed the incident, in particular two males who stopped their vehicle to help the victim and stayed with her for a short while.
“Officers on patrol quickly detained the man who was arrested on suspicion of using threatening / insulting words and behaviour with intent to cause fear, and possessing cocaine.
“He has since been released while under investigation to allow for further enquiries to be carried out.”
