Filming began on the new series of hit show Patience today (Friday).
The stars of the Channel 4 drama were out shooting scenes in the centre of the city.
A crowd of onlookers gathered outside York Minster to watch the production team at work capturing footage for the third series.
Star of the show Ella Maisy Purvis, who plays Patience, was front and centre.
A scene where she left a car and went down Precentor’s Court – where her home is in the show – was being filmed in the sunshine.
For those who have yet to see it, the show follows Patience – a young woman with autism who is navigating her role within the criminal records department of the City of York Police.
Her amazing ability to spot patterns suddenly makes her a key part of the detective team solving strange and usually murderous crimes around the city.
Bafta award winning actor Jessica Hynes, who plays DI Frankie Monroe, was earlier filming scenes under Skeldergate Bridge.
Traffic restrictions brought in for the filming on Precentor’s Court last through until 11.59pm tomorrow (Saturday).
Filming is also expected to take place on Shambles among other locations next week.
