Veterans, serving military and the civic party were joined by hundreds of residents for Remembrance Sunday in York.
After a parade from Clifford’s Tower past the Mansion House the city gathered at the City War Memorial to remember the fallen.
Led by the Lord Mayor of York Cllr Margaret Wells and the Sheriff Fiona Fitzpatrick, councillors of all parties joined the ceremony.

The bands providing music for the parade and service were the York Railway Institute Band and the Band of the Royal Yorkshire Regiment.
For The Fallen was read, with those gathered repeating the words, ‘We will remember them’.
Then the Last Post sounded, followed by an artillery gun to mark the beginning of two minutes’ silence.
Prayers were read and a hymn, Guide Me, and the National Anthem was sung by the assembly.

The parade then returned to St Helen’s Square where the Mansion House flag was lowered to half-mast, as a mark of respect.
The Lord Mayor, the Civic Party and guests saluted the parade as it continues along Coney Street.
