Two people needed to be treated for the effects of breathing in smoke after fire broke out at a home in Thirsk.
Firefighters from Ripon and Thirsk were called to the incident at 7.26pm last night (Monday).
A tumble dryer on the first floor was alight.
Crews put out the fire and ventilated the home.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The fire resulted in 100% fire damage to the dryer, 75% smoke damage to the room of origin and 10% smoke damage to the rest of the first floor of the property.
“Two casualties were administered oxygen suffering with smoke inhalation and were left in the care of ambulance crews.”
