Crews were called to deal with two fires started deliberately in York last night (Monday).
At 7.32pm, firefighters were called to Shipton Road, Rawcliffe.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “York mobilised to a small campfire in woodland consisting of leaves and twigs.
“Crews extinguished the fire with knapsack sprayers and buckets of water. The cause of the fire is believed to have been deliberate.”
And at 9.06pm, an Acomb crew went to a bin on fire on Swinerton Avenue.
The spokesperson said: “Crews extinguished using a backpack sprayer and a bucket of water. Cause believed deliberate.”
