York Rescue Boat joined the emergency services in responding to reports of a person in the river late last night.

Police, fire and ambulance crews all attended after the call at 11.48pm saying someone was in the water near Clifton Bridge.

Both the rescue boat and the fire boat went along the water as part of the search. The person was then located by police away from the river.
