Update: Road is open again now
A serious crash has closed a main road in East Yorkshire. Police are urging drivers to avoid the area.
The A166 is closed in the village of Fridaythorpe, east of Stamford Bridge, on Sunday afternoon (May 24).
Officers said the A166 is closed in both directions between Fridaythorpe and the Roman Road/Garrowby Street Junction including Pefham Lane.
“Road users are politely asked to avoid the A166 in both directions between Fridaythorpe and the Roman Road/Garrowby Street Junction (including Pefham Lane) whilst officers deal with an incident. Thank you for your understanding,” a police spokesperson said.
