Fire crews were called out to a gas leak in a York house last night (Thursday).
Firefighters from York and Acomb went to the property on Nelson Street after the occupants couldn’t turn off a cooker which was leaking gas from the hob.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The occupants were advised to evacuate the property until arrival of the fire service.
“Crews isolated the gas supply, ventilated the property and gave advice to the occupants.”
