The Body Shop are celebrating their 50th birthday – and York is part of the celebrations.
Body Shop stores across the UK are marking the milestone birthday, and here’s how the York Coppergate location is celebrating.
On Friday 27 March, visit in store for a birthday party you don’t want to miss – with goodie bags, games, limited edition gifts and merch, and more.

The first 50 customers to make a purchase in store will receive a free bundle of goodies, worth £60. The goodie bag will include products such as body butter, day cream, perfume, oils in a variety of Body Shop signature scents like shea, hemp and tea tree.
Customers will also receive a limited edition birthday gift if they spend over £50, and there will opportunities to win some product prizes on the Spin to Win games wheel.
There will also be exclusive 50th merch in store, as well as cakes and treats – as no birthday is complete without some cake.
The Body Shop has been trading in the Coppergate Centre since it opened in 1984, and it received a major refurbishment in 2023.
The Body Shop was founded by Dame Anita Roddick in Brighton in 1976. As a brand, it aims to create a safe space and community for women and girls and stand with important causes such as animal rights, human rights, and gender rights.
