Police officer helps driver after car ends up on its roof in York crash

A driver had to be helped out of his car after it crashed and ended up on its roof last night.

Emergency services were called to the incident between Rufforth and Acomb at 6.33pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “York mobilised to a single vehicle road traffic collision where the vehicle was on its roof with a person inside.

“On arrival, crews found the driver had been assisted out the vehicle by an off duty police officer and had sustained no injuries.

“Crews provided scene safety before leaving the scene in the hands of police.”
