Police issue a further appeal after the Tang Hall shooting incident

Police in York say the investigation into the incident where a car was shot at in the Tang Hall area is still going on.

The four people arrested in connection with the investigation remain on bail.

The suspect approached the car on foot and ran from the scene.

No-one was harmed and it is believed to have been a targeted incident, with no threat to the wider community.

Officers say they are continuing to appeal for people to come forward, particularly those on Starkey Crescent, Rockingham Avenue, Fifth Avenue, and Melrosegate.

A police spokesperson said: “Do you recall any suspicious people or activity between 8.45pm and 9.45pm on Saturday 7 March?

“Please also get in touch with any relevant information, CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage.

“This includes residents we have already spoken to during our extensive house-to-house enquiries, but who may now have new information or remembered something not previously mentioned to officers.”
