** UPDATED: Murder investigation launched in York **
A property in York has been cordoned off by police following a serious incident.
The cordon is on Vyner Street, near its corner with Haxby Road.
Police were called to the street last night (Saturday). Witnesses said the police, ambulance and air ambulance were called to the scene.
Incident location
Today, the cordon and a police guard remains in place. It is centred on the rear and car park of the Diamonds Villa guest house.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are dealing with an incident in the Haxby Road area of York which has led to a large police presence in the area.
“Further updates will be provided in due course.”
