Firefighters were called to an incident at a York nature reserve last night (Sunday).
A crew from Acomb responded to a report of a fire in a field at St Nicholas Fields at 7.28pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On attendance the crew found a small camp fire that had been left unattended and extinguished it using a knapsack sprayer and a bucket of water.
“Police were informed due to the cause being deliberate.”
