Police were called in following a fire at a York home.
Firefighters were called to an address in Heslington at 9.04pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from York responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential premises.
“This resulted in a deliberate fire to an item of furniture which was out upon our arrival. Advice was given to security and the police were informed of the incident.”
