Pictures: Teddy Swims thrills ahead of second sold-out Scarborough show

Thousands of fans flocked to the North Yorkshire coast last night (Wednesday) – as vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims kicked off the first of two sold-out shows at Scarborough Open Air Theatre.

The GRAMMY-nominated star took to the stage with his band Freak Freely, delivering an electrifying 90-minute set beneath sunny skies.

Bursting onto the stage, Teddyopened with The DoorHammer To The Heart and Are You Even Real, with Devin Velez, before powering through more than 20 songs including Bed On FireBad Dreams and Funeral.

He rounded off the night with a huge singalong to his multi-platinum global smash Lose Control, before exclaiming: “Thank you Scarborough, I love you. You guys are the best!”

Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Teddy Swims has been putting in real work for years going from YouTube sensation to international chart-topper.

2024 marked a record year, with multi-platinum hits Lose Control and The Door from his debut album I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1). Lose Control reached Number One on the Billboard Hot 100, became the longest-charting Hot 100 hit in history, and is now 6x Platinum with more than four billion streams.

His breakout success earned him a 2025 Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and three 2025 BET Award nominations, including Best New Artist, Best Collaboration and Best Male R&B/Pop Artist.

Opening the show was New Zealand-Australian singer and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Rakei.

Scarborough Open Air Theatre 2026 continues tonight (Thursday) with another sold-out headline show from Teddy Swims – added due to phenomenal demand.
