Pics – York wakes up to first snow of the year

People across the region woke up to the first snow of 2024 this morning.

Across the city, York had just a light dusting, with barely enough for a snowball fight.

Further out, however, there was more of a gentle blanket.

A Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice remains in force for York today, until 11am.

Temperatures are forecast to remain low – with a high of around 4° today.

Tomorrow is expected to be a little brighter, albeit with similar temperatures.

Below are some early morning photos from the city.
