Fire starters struck in a York suburb last night (Thursday).
Firefighters from Acomb were called to reports of a fire in the open at a recreational field in Haxby at 6.03pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “This was found to be a wooden pallet.
“Crews extinguished the fire using backpack sprayers and the cause was deliberate.”
