Fossgate is set to get a new addition to the street.
A bustling hive of activity, Fossgate has no shortage of thriving independent shops, cafes and businesses – and another one is coming very soon.
New shop Wonder will be opening its doors at 24 Fossgate.
Wonder is described to be a lifestyle, homeware, and gift shop, and is owned by Ruth Phillips.
It will open in what was previously home to the sustainable cafe and wine bar Remedy, which closed back in November 2025 due to being unable to renegotiate a new lease with the landlord.
Though the shop isn’t ready to open yet, it’s already on its way to being transformed, as the outside is a vibrant red colour, and inside new shelves, tables and cabinets are being installed.
