A serious crash has closed the A1079 a few miles from York.
The road is blocked both ways close to Wilberfoss, between Main Street and Bolton Lane.
It’s causing traffic congestion and long delays.

One report says that six vehicles are involved in the collision, although this has yet to be confirmed.
A second collision east of the major crash is adding to the traffic problems.
The AA reports: “The road is blocked and there’s slow traffic due to crash on Feoffee Common Lane both ways from Sand Lane to A1079 Gale Hill.”
Emergency services are on the scene.
