Movie crew films scenes at historic York venue for erotic thriller

More scenes for a new movie are being filmed in York today (Monday).

Makers of Scorn, described as an erotic thriller, are shooting scenes on Micklegate.

The action centres on Bathurst House, a Grade II* listed townhouse built in the early 1700s for Charles Bathurst, High Sheriff of Yorkshire.

Among the stars in the movie are Adria Arjona (Andor, Hit Man), Kingsley Ben-Adir (Barbie, Bob Marley: One Love), Freya Mavor (Industry), and Guy Burnet (Oppenheimer).

It has Fatal Attraction vibes, being about a woman who begins a passionate affair with a married man. When he tries to re-cast their love as just a fling, she refuses to go away quietly.

Earlier this month, scenes for the film were shot on St Mary’s off Bootham.

As we reported previously, Adria Arjona dined at The Whippet Inn, in North Street, York, with her boyfriend Jason Momoa, star of DC superhero movie Aquaman.

If any of the stars fall in love with Bathurst House, they could buy it. The four-storey building, with eight bedrooms and a walled garden, is on sale with Savills for £2,595,000.
