The Langdale and Fylingdales Moor fire scene remains active and fire crews continue to carry out regular checks across the moorland and forestry areas.
There are still some localised areas where heat remains in the ground causing some smouldering, however flare-ups (visible flames) have significantly reduced over recent weeks. If you do see any flare-ups, please call 999 and ask for the fire service.
The fire investigation team is continuing to look into the cause of the incident and they will share the findings in due course.
A drop-in session is being held at Whitby Pavilion on Monday, 20 October, from 2pm to 7pm, for those affected.
