Man to stand trial for sexual offences in York

A York man has been charged with a range of sexual offences in the city.

Max Evans, 24, of Penleys Grove Street, will attend a plea and trial preparation hearing at York Crown Court on Monday 16 March.

This is in relation to a sexual assault on a woman, making an indecent telephone call, and two counts of exposure.

The first two incidents occurred on 9 December, and the exposure incidents occurred on 29 January and 11 February.

Evans appeared at York Magistrates’ Court on Friday (13 February) having been arrested by North Yorkshire Police on Thursday afternoon and later charged with the offences.

The court remanded him on conditional bail ahead of the next hearing.
