Firefighters were called out last night (Thursday) to a fire at a York flat.
Crews headed to the incident on Hewley Avenue in Tang Hall at 5.57pm.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus extinguished the fire, which was thought to have started in the bedroom.
One man had got out of the flat but was suffering from smoke inhalation. The crew gave him oxygen.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
