A man was injured after falling from Whitby’s famous swing bridge early this morning (Sunday).
Emergency services were called to the incident at 12.13am.
He had fallen from a height of 20ft (6m) from the bridge onto the sandbank below.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews located the male resting on the water’s edge approximately eight meters from the water.
“Crews assisted in moving the casualty to a safe location and handed him over into the care of ambulance crews.”
The extent of his injuries have not been reported.
