A man is fighting for his life after he was attacked on a York street last night (Tuesday).
The ambulance service called for police help at an incident outside The Terrace Sports Bar on Fossgate at 10.17pm.
A 46-year-old man had been seriously assaulted outside the bar.
Police arrested a 38-year-old man at the scene. He remains in police custody.
The victim is in a critical condition at hospital. His family are being supported by specially trained police officers.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “CCTV shows several people on the street at time of the incident.
“Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or who has information as they could have vital information which could help the investigation.”
