A man has appeared in court after an incident in Scarborough this weekend.
Police were called to the Victoria Road area at about 9.20pm on Sunday (28 June).
Shortly afterwards, they arrested a suspect on Falsgrave Road. A knife and suspected stolen property was located during a search of the suspect’s home.

While the victim wasn’t injured, she is receiving specialist police support.
Abubakarr Moiba, a 43-year-old Sierra Leone national based in Scarborough, was charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article in a public place at York Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Tuesday).
Moiba has also been charged with attempted robbery on the same victim relating to an incident on 16-17 June.
He was remanded into custody and is due to appear at York Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation on 20 July.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “This will understandably cause concern in Scarborough, but members of the public can be reassured that it is believed to have been a targeted incident and that the suspect has been remanded into custody.
“Our Neighbourhood Policing Team is actively patrolling the area, and providing reassurance to the local community.”
