A man has been charged with two offences following the hit-and-run collision that killed 19-year-old Bailey Chadwick in July.
Last night (Sunday) a 25-year-old man was charged with drink driving and without insurance. He is due to appear at court on the 12 February 2026.
Police said the same man is still being investigated for the offence of causing death by dangerous driving.
A woman in her 20s who was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice also remains under investigation.
The incident happened on the B6265 at Lupton Bank, between Pateley Bridge and Glasshouses, as Bailey was walking home during the early hours of Sunday 20 July 2025.
Three days later his devastated family urged the driver to hand themselves into police.

Two people were later arrested.
Following Sunday night’s charges, the family have issued this statement: “As we move towards Christmas this remains an incredibly difficult time for us. We kindly ask for privacy while we continue to grieve.
“We fully support the ongoing police investigation and trust that the process will bring justice for us, Bailey’s family.”
