Police are appealing for witnesses after a man grabbed a woman by the throat on a York street.
It happened at about 9am last Tuesday (3 March) outside the Central Methodist Church on St Saviourgate.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The victim suffered reddening to the neck but did not require medical treatment.
Incident location
“A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of intentional strangulation. He has since been charged and remanded to prison.
“We are particularly interested in any information from anyone who was present on that date and who may have witnessed the incident.”
