Fire crews came to the rescue of an elderly man in York last night (Saturday).
The man, aged 83, was trapped in a lift due to a power cut.
York firefighters went to the incident at 6.28pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews gained access to the lift using small tools and the male was released unharmed.”
About 80 properties were hit by a power cut in South Bank last night. Power has now been restored.
