A lorry swerved into a ditch yesterday evening (Thursday).
Emergency services were called to the incident at Staxton Hill, Sherburn at 6.26pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Scarborough responded to a articulated lorry that had swerved into a ditch and was smoking.

“There was no sign of fire on crew’s arrival but residual heat from the brakes.
“Crews completed a thermal inspection using a thermal imaging camera and confirmed there was no risk of fire.
“The incident was left in the care of police.”
