Leeds Bradford Airport says it will be closed until the morning. It’s due to an issue with the runway.
They need to make repairs and currently expect to be able to open again early Saturday. They say they will give regular updates on their social media during the night.
A spokesperson said: “We are working to resolve the disruption as soon as possible, the safety and comfort of the passengers travelling through our terminal is our number one priority.
“Our team is on the ground in the terminal to answer any customer queries regarding departures.”
Customers are advised to check with their airline for the most up-to-date information regarding their flight.
Arrivals are being diverted to other airports.
Update – The runway opened again at 0600 Saturday Morning but delays can still be expected for a while
