The A19 Easingwold bypass is currently closed.
This is due to a hay trailer catching fire.
The road will remain shut overnight again. (Thursday). North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue crews from Acomb, Thirsk and Knaresborough responded to the incident.
The area affected is between the Thirsk Road Roundabout and the Cross Lanes Roundabout to the south of Easingwold.
Traffic is being routed through Easingwold while repairs to the carriageway continue.
