A gang of youths attacked a couple close to York Minster, police revealed today.
It happened on High Petergate near the Minster at 10pm on Saturday (27 January).
A gang of about ten youths surrounded and assaulted a man in his 20s and a woman in her 50s.
The woman received a cut to her knee and the man received a bruise to his face.
A third person, who was also with the man and woman, a woman in her 20s, was unhurt.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
