An organised crime gang has been charged with stealing large volumes of chocolate bars.
They travelled across several police force areas targeting local supermarkets.
In North Yorkshire alone the gang stole goods to the value of £4,917.
They also stole from shops in West and South Yorkshire.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The movements of the gang were plotted by officers in our dedicated roads network hub with assistance from Yorks retail crime officer and Harrogates retail crime team.
“Because of this, North Yorkshire police were able to stop the thieves in their vehicle and effect arrests.
“Offenders have been charged and remanded to a cell to await their court dates.”
