Did you know a well-fitting pair of slippers can reduce the risk of older people falling by 60%?
Now Age UK York has teamed up with the NHS and City of York Council to give away free slippers to people aged 60 and over.
The Slipper Social and Information Fair is at New Earswick Folk Hall this Friday (19 September). It runs between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
You can pick up a free pair on the day. The event coincides with the York 50+ Festival.
Age UK York is the nominated charity of York City FC so Yorkie, the club’s lion mascot, will be turning up on the day to bring some cheer.
