If you’ve been following, you’ll know that Yorkshire traditions mean a lot to me and a trip to the Great Yorkshire Show was another great event to rememebr.
Victoria Charles & David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire.
The Great Yorkshire Show has done it again.
Back for 2026 and welcoming more than 140,000 visitors, this incredible sold-out event once again celebrated everything that makes Yorkshire special. From world-class agriculture and cutting-edge farming technology to delicious local food, shopping, business networking and family entertainment, the Great Yorkshire Show continues to be one of the highlights of the county’s calendar.
YorkMix was delighted to be broadcasting live from the showground throughout the event, meeting readers, listeners, visitors and businesses from across the region.
It was fantastic to catch up with so many familiar faces while making plenty of new friends along the way. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat, took part in interviews, shared their stories or simply came over to say hello. It’s these conversations that make events like the Great Yorkshire Show so special and remind us just how strong, supportive and innovative Yorkshire’s business community really is.
A quiz with Russell’s… and 18 points!
One of the highlights of our broadcast was putting the team from Russell’s to the test with a YorkMix Quizzical, which you listen too below.
Adam, Dec, Paige, Paul and the team threw themselves into the challenge, scoring a very respectable 18 points and providing plenty of laughs along the way.
But the quiz wasn’t the only memorable moment.
Climbing aboard the world’s largest combine harvester

The Russell’s team also gave us a behind the scenes experience we’ll never forget...the opportunity to climb aboard the world’s largest combine harvester.
It’s not every day you get invited into the cab of a machine of that scale and it didn’t disappoint. Sitting high above the crowds, the panoramic view across the Great Yorkshire Show was spectacular..
It was a real privilege, and we’d like to thank Russell’s for making it possible.
