A man acting suspiciously in a York suburb was chased by police through gardens in the area.
At about 4.30am yesterday (Tuesday), police received information about a man seen acting suspiciously in Rawcliffe.
Officers went to the scene and spotted a man matching the description on Rawcliffe Avenue.

He ran off, and police pursued him through gardens in the area. A police dog was brought in, and a suspect was quickly found and detained.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “He was searched, and a small bag of white powder was found in his pocket.
“Officers then searched gardens nearby, and located a rucksack containing tools, a balaclava and gloves. A shed was also found with a snapped lock.”
A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs, going equipped to steal, and burglary.
After questioning, he was released on bail “with conditions in place to protect the local community, while police conduct forensic and other enquiries”.
