Crews have tackled two fires started deliberately in York last night (Wednesday).
They were called to Knavesmire Wood at 7.12pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “An Acomb crew responded to a tree house on fire.

“Crews extinguished the fire with knapsack sprayers and small tools, dampening down the surrounding area.
“The cause was believed deliberate and police were informed.”

Then, at 8.49pm, crews from Acomb and York went to a fire near Haxby Road.
It was in a farmer’s field with standing crops and affected an area of 10m by 10m.
The spokesperson said: “The fire had been dealt with by the land owner prior to the crews arrival and an inspection was completed by the crews.
“The cause was believed deliberate and the landowner informed police.”
